In 1978, Frank & Maria opened their salon. Meet Maria: she embodies the soul of Framar and still provides the strong foundation for the company today. For the first 20 years, she was a one-woman show, running everything from production and sales to packing each order by hand. Some 35 years after taking a leap of faith and creating this company, Maria remains at the helm today, serving as company President and staying intricately involved in all things Framar.

Maria created Framar out of the back of her husband Frank's salon in 1986, becoming the first in Canada to create foil made specifically for hair stylists. With every #framar post we see, our Framar family grows. Together, we are creating an amazing global network of people who love hair as much as we do, supporting each other through innovation, creativity and community.

Our team is passionate about pushing the boundaries of the industry to create reinvented hair tools. Framar is family-owned, with Maria's sons working in the office everyday! Maria recently collaborated with renowned hairstylist Guy Tang at the Long Beach ISSE Hair Show in 2017.
